Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of HSK Manga (“the Service”). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. HSK Manga is a small, independently operated educational project, provided as-is with no guarantee of availability.

1. What the Service does

HSK Manga takes a webtoon or manhua chapter that you point it to, extracts the dialogue, and rewrites it into simpler Chinese vocabulary at an HSK level you choose, producing a reader you can study from. It is a language-learning aid.

2. Content you submit, and copyright

• You are responsible for the URLs you submit. You represent that you have the right to access the material at that URL and to use it for personal study, and that doing so does not violate any law or any third party's rights.
• The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial language learning — rewriting material you can lawfully access so you can study it. It is not a tool for redistributing or publishing comics.
• We do not claim ownership of the source comics. All rights in the original artwork and story remain with their respective owners.
• Do not use the Service to infringe copyright, and do not submit unlawful content.

3. Copyright complaints and takedown

If you are a rights holder and believe the Service has been used to process your work in a way you object to, contact us at [email protected] with details identifying the work and the material in question. We will review and remove processed content promptly upon a valid request.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit content that is illegal, or that you do not have the right to submit;
• Use bots, scripts, or other automated means to use the Service in bulk;
• Attempt to overwhelm, disrupt, probe, or bypass the limits or security of the Service;
• Resell or commercially redistribute the Service or its output.

We may limit, suspend, or refuse service to anyone at any time, particularly for the reasons above.

5. Credits, payment, and the free trial

• New visitors get a number of free trial chapters. After that, processing a chapter requires credits.
• Credits are purchased through Stripe in fixed bundles shown at checkout. One credit processes one chapter.
• Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not a stored-value or money instrument. They simply track prepaid use of the Service. Credits do not expire.
• Credits are non-refundable. That said, if something goes wrong — for example, you were charged but did not receive credits, or a chapter failed for reasons on our side — email us at [email protected] and we will make it right.
• Credits are linked to your browser via a cookie, but they are never lost. If you clear your cookies or switch devices or browsers, you can sync your balance to any device by verifying the email you used at checkout.
• Prices and bundle sizes may change. Changes will not affect credits you have already bought.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. In particular:

• We do not guarantee the Service will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. It is a personal project and may be slow, change, or shut down at any time.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of the AI-generated simplification or translation. Automated text rewriting can be wrong or awkward; do not rely on it as authoritative.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HSK Manga and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim — which, for most users, is nothing.

You are responsible for your own use of the Service, including ensuring that your use of submitted content is lawful.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. The “last updated” date reflects the current version. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
