Why this exists
For most Chinese learners, the leap from textbook exercises to real native content is brutal. You spend a year studying, finally open a manhua you actually want to read, and every paragraph hits you with five words two or three levels above where you are. You stall. Most learners do. And most never recover the momentum.
The usual fix is graded readers: short, simplified stories curated for each level. They work, but they're a small library of made-for-learners content. You don't get to read the things you'd read for fun, which is what makes language learning stick.
HSK Manga removes the limit. Drop in any chapter from any scrollable manga site, pick your HSK level, and the dialogue gets rewritten using only vocabulary at or below that level. The plot stays. The art stays. The pacing stays. Only the vocabulary changes, so you keep reading at a level that matches your actual ability, on content you care about.
It's built independently by Jerry Rao, a high school self-learner, runs on a small home GPU, and is built to stay cheap. No team, no investors, no subscription model. It's free to use while the product finds its footing — just a daily fair-use cap to keep the GPU alive.
